Fran Alonso’s side came into the game off the back of a very positive result in the Glasgow Derby game on Wednesday against Rangers at Celtic Park and continued that momentum today, coming from behind to win with goals from Kate Nicolson, Chloe Craig and Sarah Ewens.

The game didn’t get off to the best of starts as Hibs took the lead in the 24th minute with Amy Gallagher scoring from a free-kick.

Celtic levelled the scoring up at the perfect time though, just before the break. A long free-kick from Lisa Roberston made its way into the box. As Hibs tried to clear, they failed to get the ball out of danger, falling to the feet for Kate Nicolson.

Nicolson was calm and take a nice touch, finishing into the far corner of the net.

Around seven minutes after the break Celtic went in front from the penalty spot. Wednesday’s derby winner Mariah Lee hit a shot that headed towards goal. However, it was judged to have bounced off the hand of Hibs captain, Joelle Murray.

Chloe Craig stepped up and placed her penalty into the back of the net, under the Hibs goalkeeper.

The three points were all but wrapped up around an hour into the game.

Again, it was Lee who played a big hand in the goal, taking the ball past her marker and putting a pacey, low cross along the box, which was met by Ewens who finished off the underside of the crossbar against her former side.

It was a good result in the end for the Hoops, keeping up with both Rangers and Glasgow City after their wins this afternoon in the chase for a top-two spot in the league.

Now, it’s on to next weekend’s fixture away to Forfar Farmington.
