Celtic Winger Was ‘Out of Control’; Gaffer Confirms

MECHELEN gaffer Wouter Vrancken has spoken about publicly and privately calling out Celtic winger Marian Shved after the player showed no respect to the club when he came in during the summer window.

Shved was branded a waste of space by His loan boss who revealed he would turn up to training late and not put the work in.

The player has come back in from the cold since. Speaking about Shved’s time at the club so far, Wouter reiterated the player was out of control before his media comments but he’s happy Shved has turned a corner.

Speaking to SunSport, he said: “I put him in his place internally and publicly, because it was getting out of control.

“But that did make him mentality switch. He got harder on himself during training, and came on strongly several times, with the decisive goal against Mouscron as the highlight.

”A good substitute, that was lacking this season. It’s not for everyone.

“We had guys in the ranks who could do that in previous years. Shved also has that in him, although I also expect more input from my other substitutes.”

It doesn’t bode well for the Ukrainian he’s seen only as an impact player by his Belgian club. It doesn’t appear he’s showing enough to enjoy a run in the team.

Shved might think his Celtic career is all but over but if a new manager comes in this summer, it’s a chance for everyone to have a fresh slate.

Right now, it looks bleak for the winger who should do everything in his power to get into his loan side.
