Celtic Winger Set To Miss Champions League Clash

Celtic forward Liel Abada could miss out on the clubs match away to RB Leipzig in the Champions League [Daily Record].

Abada is likely to miss out due to religious reasons with the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur being celebrated from Tuesday till Wednesday. It is considered the most important holiday in the Jewish faith.

The 21-year old came off the bench on Saturday just after the hour mark to replace Japanese international Daizen Maeda.

Abada has had a terrific start to the season for Celtic having scored an impressive six goals in eight league appearances.

Having scored a hat-trick the weekend prior to matchday one against Spanish champions and current Champions League holders Real Madrid he was picked to start the match.

Abada missed a great chance when he failed to test Courtois in the Madrid goal and was eventually subbed off at half-time.

Having had a busy International break for Israel representing both the senior and under-21 side he did not start the match against Motherwell at Celtic Park.

It could signal that the front three which Ange Postecoglou selected to start the match against The Steelmen could exactly be what he goes with in Germany.

Last season, Abada missed out on the match away to Real Betis meaning he is likely to miss this one.

It is hoped that Greek forward Giorgos Giakoumakis will return to the squad after being left out the clash against Motherwell at the weekend due to injury.
