With the deadline for adding players for the next round of Champions League qualifiers, Celtic are upping their efforts to get a defender in before it.

Celtic comfortably seen off Lincoln Red Imps last night but after a first leg shocker the team need to up their game against the much more capable FC Astana.

With that in mind there is major work going on behind the scenes to get at least one player in before the 11pm deadline tonight.

Shane Duffy has been a target for sometime now but Blackburn could have priced him out of a move to the Scottish Champions.

Also it’s worth noting that Liverpool’s Jon Flanagan was pulled out their team at the last minute yesterday evening. Another player who has been heavily linked with Celtic.
