Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has claimed Celtic will wait until January to try and grab Ben Davies on a pre-contract because right now recruiting another central defender isn’t a priority.
The club have already shelled out a sizeable loan fee for Shane Duffy to come in and there’s unlikely to be movement unless a high profile exit occurs I.e Ajer.
As we’ve said before Celtic would like to add another CB and winger, if they can, but it’s not their priority just now. Priority is left back.

They would be content to start looking for another CB in January, when Ben Davies could be available on a pre-contract. https://t.co/udUNvuKm7r
Joseph reiterates Celtic are on the search for a left back, one who can fit into a 3-5-2 system.
There have been names knocking around but interest hasn’t got serious until this week when they finally got Boli Bolingoli out the door. The Belgian moved to Turkish football for the rest of the season after breaking COVID-19 rules which cost the postponement of two Celtic games.
James Forrest player left wing back against Ross County, which is far from ideal. It was a great result in Dingwall non the less and the team will be brimming with confidence ahead of their trip to St Mirren.
