Celtic Utilises Partnership with Admira Wacker to Loan Out Youth Prospects

Celtic has taken another progressive step in nurturing its young talents by utilising its strategic partnership with Austrian second-tier side, FC Admira Wacker.

On Monday, the Glasgow-based club confirmed that two of its youth prospects, goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi and defender Matthew Anderson, will join Admira Wacker on a season-long loan deal.

The move is seen as a win-win for both clubs, as Celtic’s up-and-coming talents will gain invaluable first-team experience in a competitive setting, something far more challenging than the Lowland League where Celtic’s B team currently competes. On the other hand, Admira Wacker will benefit from an injection of fresh legs and youthful exuberance, as they aim to climb the ranks in Austria’s second division.

Tobi Oluwayemi, is a promising goalkeeper who has been turning heads within Celtic’s youth academy while starring in the Lowland League. Known for his quick reflexes and composure under pressure, Oluwayemi could benefit immensely from playing week-in and week-out in a more challenging league.

Matthew Anderson is a versatile defender capable of playing both as a centre-back and a right-back. He has been praised for his positional awareness and ability to read the game, skills that could be honed further in Austria.

The partnership serves as a brilliant example of how football clubs can work together across borders to provide the best development pathways for their emerging talents. For Celtic, it’s another step toward securing the club’s future by ensuring its young talents are nurtured in the best possible environments.
