Celtic’s under-18s were victorious in the Scottish Youth Cup last season, defeating Rangers in a thrilling final which ended in a 6-5 victory at Hampden. Unfortunately for the Bhoys, that won’t be repeated this season.
Away at Montrose under-18s in only the third round of the competition, Celtic were defeated by two goals to one. Jay Cochrane and Ben Hermiston got the goals for the Gable Endies.
Undoubtedly, this loss came as a colossal shock for the Hoops’ under-18s. The youngsters will be disappointed but their season is in no way over.

The Celts still have lots to compete for going forward as they look to impress the hierarchy at the club. Moving up to the B team will be the next objective for the under-18s who will all have aspirations of making it big at Parkhead.
There are several men who have done so in the past and just like the under-18s at the weekend, the likes of Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Anthony Ralston have all had bad days at the office.
