Celtic’s pre-season win over Cork City ended without a trophy presentation after a pitch invasion brought post-match proceedings to a halt.
Brendan Rodgers’ side ran out 2-1 winners, with Luke McCowan and youngster Colby Donovan finding the net in a lively encounter.

McCowan struck early, before Donovan capped things off with a late header to seal the win for the Scottish champions.
The match, part of the Cork Super Cup, drew a sell-out crowd keen to see the Hoops in action under the summer sun. But the full-time whistle sparked good-natured scenes as hundreds of young fans spilled onto the pitch, eager to greet the Celtic squad.
While the players and staff embraced the atmosphere, stopping for selfies and handshakes with the local support, the scale of the invasion meant plans to formally present the trophy to Callum McGregor were shelved.

With no clear path to the makeshift presentation area, organisers opted to cancel the ceremony entirely. Celtic’s squad eventually made their way back to the dressing room, having completed another useful pre-season outing.
Rodgers and his players appeared unfazed by the disruption, taking the opportunity to engage with supporters rather than worry about the missing silverware. For the Hoops, the focus remains on fitness and form ahead of the competitive campaign.
