We now know Celtic will play out their Scottish Cup semi-final date against Aberdeen on the weekend of Halloween this year after the SFA confirmed the dates.
However, what they’ve also confirmed will throw the cat among the pigeons and will prove to be an intriguing story on the day; Jonny Hayes WON’T be Cup tied for the game and will be free to line up against Celtic.

The player already has played in the Same competition for Celtic and had a good chance of lining up against Aberdeen had the fixtures gone ahead as scheduled.
We now have the possibility of a COVID related football story unfolding where Jonny Hayes could potentially cost Celtic another treble, a treble he was fighting for once upon a time.
Rules agreed for remaining fixtures:
– Players who have played for another team during the 2019/20 competition will not be cup-tied for the semi-finals and final.
– Teams will be allowed to use five substitutes.

If Celtic were to get to the final and so were Hearts, Craig Gordon would 100% line up against his old club also.
