Luis Palma and Nat Phillips became Celtic’s seventh and eighth summer signing this week. Although they were brought in late in the window, it doesn’t look like the duo will be the Hoops’ final signings of the summer.
Benfica’s Paulo Bernardo look set to join the champions, and according to Mail Sport, Celtic still want to bring in a left-back.
Despite Brendan Rodgers having Greg Taylor and Alexandro Bernabei available to him, the Irishman doesn’t appear to be satisfied with his options in that position. In fairness, Bernabei remains young and raw meanwhile Taylor is more suited to the inverted full-back style Ange Postecoglou implemented.

Quentin Merlin was linked with a move to Glasgow earlier in the window, however, the young Nantes left-back recently quashed those rumours, saying he plans to stay in France this season.
There will be several other options out there, though, and Hoops’ fans will hope a deal for a left-back can be done promptly and by Friday at midnight.
