Celtic Park’s away section will feature fan safety nets for the first time in a Champions League fixture when the Hoops host Club Brugge on Wednesday night.
The decision comes as the Belgian side is expected to bring a substantial travelling support to Glasgow for the encounter.

The safety nets were installed at Celtic Park earlier this season to address crowd safety concerns, primarily with an eye on restoring allocations for derby matches. While the nets were initially in place for the season’s first derby, Celtic opted not to allocate tickets to Rangers fans, citing a lack of reciprocity from the Ibrox club, who had not even ordered any nets and were playing their football at Hampden, not in Govan.
Celtic head into the match in fine form, sitting on seven points after four matches, one ahead of Brugge, who earned a vital 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in their last outing.
Brendan Rodgers’ side has turned Celtic Park into a fortress in Europe, boasting three consecutive home wins in the competition against Slovan Bratislava, RB Leipzig, and Feyenoord.
With no injury or suspension concerns, Celtic are likely to field a similar starting XI that delivered a dominant 4-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday.
