In the summer window, Celtic reportedly turned down a hefty £10 million offer from Leeds United for O’Riley, after they acquired him for a mere £1.5 million in January 2022.
O’Riley has been instrumental for the Hoops under manager Brendan Rodgers; arguably the best player so far this season.
He has already made his mark this season with two goals and two assists in just the first four league matches.
He was the league’s top assister last season. However, he didn’t find the back of the net as often as expected, ending with three goals.
Finalising an improved contract for O’Riley would undoubtedly be seen as a terrific move by Celtic, and one that would certainly resonate well with the fanbase.
