CELTIC gave Rekeem Harper and his representatives a VIP experience of Celtic Park on Sunday when the bhoys beat Hearts 2-1 and then lifted the SPFL trophy.
The out of contract West Brom star has attracted interest from the Scottish Champions in recent times with Neil Lennon actually scouting the player a couple of weeks back at the Hawthorns. With West Brom resigned to another season in England’s second tier the player is yet to sign a new deal. With the young man’s trip to Celtic Park last weekend, he’s clearly assessing his options.
New details of a potential deal have now emerged.
Should a club in England sign Rekeem on a contract they will have to pay a decent compensation fee imposed by the FA. However, the rules between Scotland and England aren’t as stringent and Celtic would only have to pay the standard FIFA imposed amount for the Baggies training the 19-year-old to this point – meaning Celtic can land the talented midfielder for £235k the Express and star reports.
Very much below market value for a guy who has made over 30 appearances for West Brom this season.
