Celtic to Cut £5m Flop This Summer

The amount of money Celtic paid for Albian Ajeti back in 2020 is going to end in a substantial loss that the club will have to take on the chin this coming summer.

The striker has been out on loan at Sturm Graz this season where his fortunes have not changed for the better.

Due to mostly injury, Albian has made only ten appearances for the Austrian side since making the move last summer. Six of which were starts and he’s managed to find the net just twice.

There’s no danger of Albian staying beyond his current loan with Sturm Graz and he’ll head back to Celtic at the end of the season.

Celtic flop Albian Ajeti

By that time, Ajeti will have one-year left on his four-year Celtic deal. The club will be looking to get him off the wage bill before a competitive ball is kicked next term. It’s not going to be easy considering the frontman is on decent wages. Sky Sports reported back in 2020 that the player took a wage cut to join Celtic but he was still on £65k at West Ham. The same Sky Sports report revealed the £5m figure paid out to the London club for his serviced.

It looks as if Celtic would just be happy to move Albian on at this stage. The Celtic board have likely already made their peace with the fact Albian’s deal has ben a poor piece of business.

Celtsarehere understands there will be no chance of any Celtic redemption next season and that Ange has zero plans for him.
