Reports tonight Celtic are backing a Rangers* led proposal for league reconstruction which would vitally see Hearts, Partick and Stranraer avoid relegation with the league switching to a 14-14-18 set up.
This would include the inclusion of Celtic colts to the lowest tier — something the club have been keen to do for years because of the lack of a proper reserve set up.
Right now, if it gains enough support, the league could introduce this from next season onwards and BBC man says Celtic and their rivals are on the same page.
Interesting one here from @TEnglishSport : https://t.co/CRpKlSUwfa @BBCSportsound proposal is from @RangersFC although @BBCSportScot understands it has @CelticFC ‘s backing too. Would mean no relegation for @JamTarts @PartickThistle @StranraerFC 14-14-18 set up proposed

Celtic were crowned champions of Scotland in May being thirteen points clear of the chasing pack. It’s all about next season now and if this proposal can garner enough support it would change things significantly.
The SPFL will have to meet to discuss the pros and cons of any such change with it likely going to a vote.
