Mark Wilson has been confirmed as the new Head Coach of Partick Thistle. The former Celtic defender takes the job after working as interim co-manager with Brian Graham at the end of last season.
Wilson and Graham helped the Jags reach the Scottish Premiership play-offs. They worked well together, but Graham turned down the chance to take the job full-time. That left Wilson as the clear choice, and the club made it official this morning.

Wilson said: (Partick Thistle), “I am really pleased to be the Head Coach at Partick Thistle and I cannot wait to get started. It is going to be a busy summer but one I am looking forward to.”
Wilson joined Celtic from Dundee United in January 2006 for £500,000. He played mainly as a right-back and made 131 appearances, scoring three goals and setting up 11 more. He had injury problems but still enjoyed success with Celtic.
While at Celtic, Wilson won four league titles, two Scottish Cups, and two League Cups.
After leaving Celtic in 2012, he played for Bristol City, Dundee United, and Dumbarton before retiring in 2015. He then moved into coaching.
Wilson managed Airdrieonians in the 2016–17 season and was in charge at Brechin City from 2019 to 2020. In October 2023, he joined Thistle’s youth set-up and coached the under-18s.

By February, Wilson was brought in as interim boss alongside Graham. Together, they guided the team to the play-offs. Graham later chose not to carry on, and Wilson was appointed head coach earlier today.
Now, Wilson gets ready for a big summer as he looks to build a team capable of pushing for promotion. His coaching experience, knowledge of young players, and calm presence have won the board’s trust. He now leads the club into the new season with high hopes of promotion.
