‘Celtic Target’ Subject of £2million Bid – Celts Could Land Player for Nothing

SUNDERLAND have reportedly rejected a bid from Cardiff for ‘Celtic Target’ Josh Maja while the player is still weighing up his next move.

According to reports, the Welsh club launched a £2million bid for the striker but the Black Cats were not impressed by the bid even though Josh has less than six-months on his current deal at the Stadium of light.

Sunderland boss, Jack Ross has made no secret he wants to keep the frontman but the player and his reps rejected a deal at the start of January and the player has been looking elsewhere. Celtic have been heavily linked with the young forward and if the club did choose to sign Maja on a pre-contract it could be the best move for all parties.

Sunderland and Ross seem resigned to losing their striker but if they can get the second half of the season out of him before he moves on it’s accepted this is their best option at this point.

Celtic have already brought in two striker’s this window but with Timothy Weah in Glasgow on a six-month loan deal, Maja coming in this summer would make sense.
