Celtic Target Opens Up on Failed £13m Move – Neil Lennon Confirmed Interest

VICTOR WANYAMA has been the subject of intense speculation surrounding his future ever since the summer. The former Celtic midfielder looked set to leave Spurs before the Premier League deadline but in the end chose to stay in London instead of making a move to Club Brugge.

Speaking about the failed transfer and where he stands now, the Kenyan has been the model professional and admits he still harbours some hope of getting another chance at Tottenham. The London side have been struggling this term and Wanyama must be hoping Pocchetino could re-think his worth to the squad as they try to cure their bad form.

Speaking to All Africa – the midfielder said:

“For me, I am a professional player and sometimes you have to wait until everything is done.

“Things were good but unfortunately the transfer didn’t happen.

“But I have to put my head down and work hard in training to be back on top form.

“I will keep working and wait for my chance in the team.”

Neil Lennon did confirm he tried to lure the player back to Celtic in the summer after the £13m deal to Brugge fell through but it never got off the ground. There’s a small chance the Celtic manager could try again in January under the right circumstances.

It would prove very difficult to bring Victor in for a variety of reasons which can be read here.

The Only Way Celtic Can Re-sign Victor Wanyama in January

It remains a long shot at best but you can never say never. The bhoys will need reinforcements in the middle of the park come January.
