Scottish Celtic fans will likely be tuning into the international game this evening between Scotland and Austria.

The national team get their World Cup qualification campaign up and running inside an empty Hampden.

Scotland’s result has the biggest importance of the evening but Celtic fans might be looking at one or two players who have been recently linked with the club and how they handle things.

Declan Gallagher’s Motherwell contract is up at the end of the season and he’s been linked several times with a move to the club with Teamtalk reporting last week his head has been turned by Celtic.

If Celtic are to be successful next season, we need a mixture of players who already know the league and top talent from around Europe.

Gallagher is by no means a glamour signing or something any supporter will clamour for, but if he can do the business for his country, there’s an opportunity to perhaps bring the player in on a two-year deal which would break the bank.

He might not be a first choice centre-back but Celtic must box clever with who they bring in and their credentials for helping to win the league back.
