Celtic Take Action After Gers Fans Weekend Shame

Celtic have confirmed they will ramp up security and the fenced perimeter outside Celtic Park in the build-up to the Glasgow Derby a week on Sunday

Speaking to RecordSport, a spokesperson for the club said: “Following the events of last weekend we are enhancing security around the club’s property in the run up to the match.”

There have been doubts if the game would even go ahead after The Rangers fans openly flouted lockdown rules and vandalised the city centre. There’s clearly a disconnect and the very real possibility of fans turning up outside the ground even though there’s a stay at home order.

However, Celtic are looking to make sure the game does go ahead and when it does, the stadium and the surrounding area is protected.

The Celtic shop in Glasgow was vandalised at the weekend also and the club wants to make sure there’s no repeat before or after the game.

It may be a dead rubber but there’s no such thing as meaningless Glasgow Derby. Tensions will be high but it’s important not to let the threat of yobs win and cancel the game.

Hopefully their fans will behaVE and the game can go ahead without a hitch. It should be about the game and nothing else.
