The Celtic Supporters Association has released an open letter to Ian Maxwell over the behaviour of SFA officials after Kevin Clancy denied Celtic not one but two penalties at Easter Road on Sunday.
General Secretary Joe O’Rourke detailed several incidents in the recent past and questions why certain incidents go unpunished.
The letter also goes into a bias since the beginning of the Scottish football league towards Rangers and handicapping Celtic.
The bhoys dropped two points at the weekend under pretty frustrating circumstances and it has proven to be the catalyst for this message. Neil Lennon took it on the chin but did point out you would expect one of those penalty decisions to come Celtic’s way.
Ryan Christie and Moritz Bauer were the men pulled down and both of them were convinced they had been fouled as did pundits in the stands but the referee waved them both off.
The letter reads:
Dear Mr Maxwell.
After another abysmal performance from the “WORST REFEREE IN WORLD FOOTBALL” when are you going to get out of your comfy chair and actually do something to sort out the Refereeing Department at the SFA?
A good start would be to get rid of Head of Refereeing John Fleming, this guy is an embarrassment to any honest football official, although they seem to be in short supply in Scotland. Why was the money not found to fund VAR? I would suggest until “Operation Stop the Ten” succeeds, we will continue to have “Serial Cheats” and “Total Incompetents” officiating at matches in the SPFL, there is no room for “Honesty”
