Clyde SSB is a haven for those who enjoy hearing the most illogical and irrational opinions on Scottish Football. The show has been running for years, providing listeners with an endless supply of cringeworthy moments from callers and pundits that go viral, but rarely for the right reasons.
The show’s format, coupled with the lack of knowledge from many of the regulars, is enough to make anyone feel nauseous. It’s difficult not to feel sorry for the host, Gordon Duncan, who valiantly tries to reason with the most unhinged callers on a regular basis.
However, as the Glasgow Derby approaches, things go even more off the rails, as evidenced by a recent phone call from a Rangers fan who struggled to hold himself together under scrutiny.
During the conversation with Duncan, this caller ‘Mal’ – claimed that Celtic are ‘scraping’ by in the league, that ‘their day was coming’, VAR was helping them and that they’re on a hiding to nothing. Unfortunately for Mal, his attempts to discredit Celtic were flimsy at best, and he ended up resorting to bizarre rambles about European football and consortiums.
The host tried his best to steer the conversation back on track, but to no avail. Mal was simply too far gone in his own delusions to be reasoned with.

It’s moments like these that make SSB such a guilty pleasure for many fans. The show thrives on the hard-of-thinking, providing a platform for those with too much time on their hands to engage in meaningless tit-for-tat arguments. But hey, at least we get some good sound bites out of it.
