Celtic Submit Exciting Glasgow City Centre Planning Application

Celtic Football Club has submitted a planning application to open a new shop on Queen Street in Glasgow’s bustling city centre.

If approved by Glasgow City Council, the new store would take over the former Next building at 12-18 Queen Street, right next to Primark. The building became available after Next relocated to a larger site on Argyle Street.

There’s no official word yet on whether the current Celtic shop at 154 Argyle Street will remain open or if the proposed Queen Street store will become the club’s new flagship location.

However, given the close proximity to the new application site, it would be a good bet that the Argyle street shops would make way for the new store. The planning application, filed on February 4, is now awaiting a decision from the council’s planning board.

For Celtic, expanding their presence in the city centre with a fresh new store could be a shrewd move. As Scotland’s most successful club, having a prime retail space in a busy area could provide a significant boost for both supporters and tourists looking for official merchandise.

With Glasgow’s city centre regularly bustling with football fans and visitors, the new shop could offer a fresh, vibrant hub for support.

If the plans go ahead, it could mark another step in the club’s continued growth off the pitch, complementing the success and ambition displayed on it.
