‘Celtic stuffed me full of painkillers’ – Ex-Celts Injury Blame Game

CELTIC FLOP Derk Boerigtter has blamed Celtic and more specifically the medical staff for ruining his career.

The Dutchman who already came to Celtic with a repuation as player who couldn’t stay fit for very long took only 20 minutes into his debut to go down and be subbed.

After that, the winger never really got going. Injury’s and better players kept him out the starting XI.

Derk is now retired from football after failing to find a club once he had came to an arrangemnt with Celtic to terminate his deal and he puts that down to the Celtic medical staff not picking up on a serious injury.

“My career at Celtic didn’t work out because of silly injuries.

“Those injury problems actually started at Ajax, but at Celtic things went badly wrong.

“Celtic then stuffed me full of painkillers, so I could keep playing. Then it turned out that it was ultimately a bone fracture in my ankle.”

“I really blame Celtic’s medical staff for that. It was a real shame what happened.”
