Celtic are still said to be very keen on bringing striker Kyle Joseph to the club even though there’s nobody at the helm right now.

The 72 claim Celtic are still in the mix to pick the Wigan player up as a free agent but they face competition from predominantly Newcastle.

The Hoops don’t have a manager, a permanent chief exec or head scout on their books at the moment. It’s unlikely a final sign off on any player can take place at this moment.

The interest in Joseph has been well known for some time and the 19-year-old could be weighing up his options and perhaps waiting for Celtic to get their house in order.

Celtic need to replenish their squad, which means we need established players as well as young, hungry talent.

Joseph could fit the latter description and give any new manager a different option up front.

We’re heading to the end of the season with everything set to be wrapped up within the next month or so.

After that, it’s all hands on deck for the start of next season. Will Joseph be part of it?
