Celtic’s afternoon statement addressing the EGM vote for an independent inquiry also through up something much more pressing for the Celtic support.
The line in which the club writes: ‘We now appeal to all clubs to look to the future in the knowledge that the threats which exist to the fabric of Scottish football are grave and unprecedented. All of our energies should be applied to planning for the return of the game in season 2020-21 and to the financial survival of all our clubs.’
This seems to indicate Celtic are aware this current season can’t go forward.
The focus is very much on getting the game back next season and putting everything we can into making that happen.

The current season could end at any time the SPFL feels the games can no longer be played. With Celtic already looking to next season, it certainly seems like there is something afoot.
The lower leagues have already been called on a points per game basis and if the Premiership can’t go ahead, this will be decided the same way.
Celtic would be crowned champions and Hearts would be relegated. The club expressed sympathy for clubs relegated but urges many to look at the bigger picture, which is the survival of our game. We await the SPFL decision.
