Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Hoops starting XI to face Young Boys in tonight’s must-win Champions League clash at Celtic Park.
With a win tonight likely to mathematically seal a place in the Champions League knockout playoffs next month, Rodgers will hope that the team he picks can start the game quickly and get an early goal to liven up the home support, which is already set to be in full voice ahead of the game.

Rodgers’ team selection on Saturday against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup is likely to be an indication of the starting XI he will go with tonight. However, the Irishman has rotated when needed so far this season, and with Auston Trusty, Reo Hatate, and Arne Engels starting just four days ago, the only questions over the team sheet are whether the trio will retain their place.
Liam Scales, Paulo Bernardo, and Luke McCowan are all also in contention to start. However, given the fact they didn’t start Saturday’s game, it remains to be seen whether Rodgers will opt to include them in the starting XI tonight.

It’s as would be expected from Rodgers, an unchanged starting XI from Saturday in what looks to be the Irishman’s favoured team at the time of writing.
It’s a big night for Engels and Hatate in the heart of midfield, with doubts over their effectiveness at times this season. However, They have the chance to make history and book a place in the next round with a win at Paradise tonight.
Rodgers has also shown faith in Trusty, starting the US defender after criticism and praise for him in recent games. The Irishman is looking to show that he has confidence in him to continue performing at a high level against the Swiss champions at Paradise.
Tonight’s game is live on TNT Sports 3, and kick-off is at 8pm.
