Celtic Starting XI: Rodgers Shakes Things Up with 3 Changes

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic starting XI as the Hoops look to go 18 points clear tonight at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a win at Dens Park.

Celtic ran out 4-1 winners against Ross County in Dingwall on Saturday, despite Kyogo having to play at times on the right-hand side due to both Nicolas Kühn and James Forrest missing the game through injury. However, Kühn is in contention for tonight’s game after pulling up last Wednesday in the warm-up against Dundee United at Celtic Park.

Dundee will certainly pose Celtic a challenge tonight in Tayside, with Tony Docherty well-regarded for the way his side looks to attack at home.

However, with Kyogo stealing the show on Saturday with a brace, the Celtic striker showed why, on his day, he is still unstoppable for the opposition.

Despite doubts surrounding his future and links to a move to the MLS with Atlanta United, the confusion caused by the MLS league page announcing last Wednesday that Kyogo had signed has not affected his performances on the pitch.

This is despite some in the media questioning his lack of celebration when he scored on Saturday, even though the Japanese forward revealed after the game that his frustration was due to other chances he missed during the match.

It will also be interesting to see how much Rodgers rotates tonight, with Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup at Celtic Park and Young Boys in the Champions League. It is a big week ahead for the Hoops outside the Scottish Premiership.

Here is your Celtic starting XI in full to face Dundee at Dens Park tonight:

Rodgers makes three changes with Greg Taylor returning despite rumours of a summer exit when his contract expires. Paulo Bernardo returns to the starting XI for the first time since Ibrox on January 2nd, with Luke McCowan given a chance against his former side after scoring on Saturday.

The last big call is Idah over Nicolas Kuhn, with Kuhn on the bench after missing the Ross County game through injury. The German will likely play a big part off the bench in the second half tonight.

Tonight’s game is live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event, with kick-off at 8 pm.
