Celtic Starting XI: Rodgers Makes Three Key Changes for Aberdeen Clash

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Hoops starting XI to face Aberdeen at Celtic Park tonight.

Rodgers will be hopeful that he can get a reaction from the Hoops, who suffered just their second domestic defeat of the season on Saturday against Hibernian at Easter Road in a 2-1 loss. The Celtic boss will be looking for his side to bounce back strongly and regain momentum in their pursuit of yet another Scottish Premiership title.

Celtic have the chance to go 16 points clear with a win against Jimmy Thelin’s side, with Rangers not in action until tomorrow night against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

However, Rodgers will be aware that Aberdeen are the only Scottish team to get a result at Celtic Park this season, having drawn 2-2 in October, despite Celtic being 2-0 up at half-time. The Irishman will be keen to avoid any slip-ups and ensure his side secures all three points.

With Rodgers making three changes for Saturday’s game against Hibernian, Greg Taylor, Luke McCowan, and Adam Idah were all substituted at half-time.

It will be interesting to see if any of the trio retain their place tonight against an in-form Aberdeen side, who will be looking to cause problems for Celtic. Rodgers will likely want to field his strongest XI to ensure a vital win to go 16 points clear.

Here is your Celtic Starting XI to face Aberdeen:

Rodgers made changes to Celtic’s back four, midfield, and front line, with Jeffrey Schlupp replacing Greg Taylor and Reo Hatate replacing Luke McCowan. Jota is the final change for Adam Idah, with Daizen Maeda instead leading the line.

It’s interesting to see that the three changes made to the team on Saturday have been reversed, with tonight’s starting XI being the same one that started against Bayern Munich a week ago at the Allianz.
