Celtic Starting XI: Idah Starts

Celtic have announced their starting eleven for today’s Scottish Cup semi-final against St Johnstone at Hampden Park, with a place in next month’s final against Aberdeen on the line.

Brendan Rodgers has made a few notable selections in the line-up.

In defence, Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor take up the full-back roles, while Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales form the central partnership.

Captain Callum McGregor anchors the midfield in his usual role, flanked by Reo Hatate and Arne Engels.

Out wide, James Forrest continues his run in the side, offering experience and directness on the flanks. Daizen Maeda starts on the opposite wing, with his pace and pressing a constant threat. Leading the line is Adam Idah, who’ll be looking to make an impact up top.

The bench includes Bain, Trusty, Jota, Kuhn, McCowan, Schlupp, Bernardo and Ralston — giving Rodgers several options to change the game if needed.

The match carries added weight after Celtic’s shock 1-0 defeat to St Johnstone just weeks ago in the league. That result will be fresh in the memory as the Hoops look to secure their return to the national stadium for the final.

Aberdeen await the winners after beating Hearts on Saturday, adding extra motivation for Rodgers’ men to ensure they don’t come up short again.
