Kristoffer Ajer is one of Celtic’s biggest prospects and could be a lad that goes for big money down the line. The Norwegian was a colossus for Celtic last term and he started the season brightly this term. The Rennes and Hibernian game has seen the player cool off a little bit and look a bit uncertain on the defensive side of things.
His man handling in the box which led to the Rennes penalty might just have rattled him a little bit.
The freak own goal against Hibs not really his fault but it can effect a player mentally.
Ajer has all the tools to be a Celtic captain if he stays around long enough. Vocal, passionate and talented. It’s important he learns from his mistakes and according to the man himself that’s exactly what he’s doing with the help of John Kennedy.
Speaking to CelticTV – the defender has told Celtic fans he has watched the penalty he gave away over and over again and even sat down to look at how he could have prevented the goal against Hibs.
“I have looked through the penalty in Rennes several times and learned from that. That will hopefully not happen again. I have looked through the own goal against Hibs a few times as well.
“The penalty against Rennes? I absolutely could have and should have done better. It’s a learning experience. I look through all the clips with Kendo and we try to learn from it. The most important thing is it doesn’t happen regularly and hopefully it won’t.”
