NEIL LENNON refused to rule out the possibility that one of his defender’s has played his last game for the club amid speculation an injury to Dedryck Boyata has finished his season prematurely.
Dedryck went off during Celtic’s win in the Glasgow Derby, forcing Celtic to play the last 15 minutes with ten men after Neil Lennon had used all his substitutions.
The player limped down the touchline and punched the dugout in anger knowing his day was over but the implications of the injury and his current contract situation then his Celtic career could be done.
Speaking about the injury to Record Sport, Neil Lennon confirmed it could be a bad one when asked if Boyata’s Celtic career was done.
“Possibly. He felt it [hamstring] rip. He played on having felt a twinge and then he felt a rip five minutes later.
“Again, we’ll have to wait and see, but it’s a blow because he’s been absolutely brilliant.”
Celtic have Jozo Simunovic back fit but the status of Filip Benkovic is unknown, the player did train last week before pulling up again and missing the Glasgow Derby.
Ajer is likely to play alongside Jozo this week against St Mirren in Paisley.
