Injured Celtic Star Posts Instagram Apology

DAIZEN MAEDA is back in Scotland after reluctantly withdrawing from the Japanese squad earlier this week.

The Celtic winger made the trip to join his national side when he was called up. However, an injury predating international week would see him play no part for Japan this time around.

Now back in Glasgow, the Celtic player did show the silver lining of leaving early, and that’s to spend time with his kids, sharing a snap from Kelvingrove Park.

The message was written in Japanese, but the loose Instagram translation reveals Daizen was apologising to the Japanese fans for his early exit but vows to return to the national setup when he is fit.

For Celtic fans, they’ll be hoping the Hoops player recovers in time for the Glasgow Derby on April 8th. There are quite a few injury concerns in the Celtic squad at the moment; losing Daizen for any period of time would be a blow.

Let’s hope the Celtic medical team have things under control.
