It’s been two days since Neil Lennon left his post. The former Celtic manager choosing to leave this week when there was ample opportunity at various points this season to do so has us puzzled.
What is very interesting, is the lack of farewell messages on social media from his players.
We had Christopher Jullien on social media thanking the former Celtic boss for everything, Jeremie Frimpong also thanked the Irishman for his support during the last 18 months.
Scott Brown praised the manager for the Celtic website but as a whole, the squad have been very quiet on the social media front when it comes to Neil Lennon.
Are we getting an insight into the feelings of some of the players?
There is over half a dozen Celtic players who are very active on Instagram but have not wished the manager well in the future.
Marian Shved and Vakoun Bayo even liked the post from Celtic announcing his departure. Is it a sign the players were less than receptive to Neil Lennon?
Some people won’t think it’s a big deal but it is very telling.
The Celtic manager has called the players out publicly over the past 8 months on more than one occasion and it looks like it’s not won him any friends.
There will be players who keep their praise private and have quietly said goodbye to the manager but not many are quick to do it publicly.
