Celtic Starlet Linked with Loan Exit

JOHNNY KENNY has attracted the interest of Carlisle United as the English side attempt to negotiate a loan deal for the player.

However, they’re not alone in their interest, with other clubs from north and south of the border keen to take the player on. [Scottish Express Sport]

After joining from Sligo Rovers in January, the 19-year-old has predominantly featured for the B team but travelled with the first team for their summer training camp, where he impressed and scored in the Hoops’ thrashing of SC Wiener Viktoria.

Celtic is keen for the player to spend the season on loan and build up some more first-team minutes. Joining an English League 2 side would be an appropriate level for the player and allow him to develop.

Celtic are strong in the striker’s position, and first-team minutes for Kenny won’t be likely. However, if he has a successful loan spell away, he will come back and push to be included in Ange Postecoglou’s matchday squads.
