Celtic Star Wants Adam Idah Signed Permanently

Given his contributions since joining Celtic at the tail end of the winter transfer window, the majority of talk over the next few weeks will surround a permanent move to Glasgow for Adam Idah.

It is difficult to think of a player who has had such an impact at a club in 19 appearances, but in said timeframe, the Irish striker has scored nine times, assisted twice, and played a vital role in the winning of a domestic double.

Idah’s last-minute strikes at Easter Road, Fir Park, and Hampden have been nothing short of key, with Brendan Rodgers hailing him as a catalyst for the Hoops’ success this campaign.

The manager wants to bring the 23-year-old to Celtic on a long-term basis, and the player himself has openly admitted his love for the club.

CeltsAreHere revealed in April that it would take north of £6m for the champions to sign the Cork native permanently, and it is a deal Greg Taylor wants to be done.

The left-back knows how crucial the striker has been in the second half of the season and was asked if he’ll be persuading him to stay: “I certainly will be, definitely”, he joked (RecordSport).

“He’s been outstanding, with some massive contributions in games and I’m really proud of him.

“It’s important to remember he’s still a young guy. He’d been at Norwich a long time and had done really well but this has given him that fresh start and I’m sure he’d be keen to stay.

“He’s scored goals in some big moments and it’s also pushed Kyogo, who has gone to another level again since Adam came in.

“Adam’s been outstanding, his goals have been outstanding, so the two of them have made big, key contributions. I’m really proud of them both.

“He [Idah] is still really young. Just because he has that presence, it’s easy to forget that. He’s really enjoyed his time here and I’m sure he would be keen to stay.”
