Celtic Star Singles Out Teammate for ‘Unbelievable’ Praise

Celtic club-record signing Arne Engels, has heaped praise on teammate Yang Hyun-Jun after the South Korean Korean winger delivered a stunning brace off the bench in Saturday night’s 5-2 win over St. Mirren. Yang’s Instant Impact

Yang was introduced as a substitute at the SMiSA Stadium and wasted no time in making his presence felt. With Celtic looking to put the game beyond doubt, he delivered two expertly taken headers, showcasing his sharp movement and clinical finishing. His second goal, in particular, highlighted his growing confidence, as he connected brilliantly with a pinpoint cross from Jeffrey Schlupp to seal the win.

Engels’ High Praise

Arne Engels, who arrived at Celtic as the club’s record signing in January, was full of admiration for Yang’s performance and work ethic. Speaking after the match, Engels said: (RecordSport),“Unbelievable. I am really happy for him. He is always training 100 per cent, trying to come in, trying to force things, and in the last couple of weeks, he’s already come in and played fantastically. I am really happy for him.”

The Belgian midfielder also highlighted the importance of Yang’s contribution to the team, adding:

“What is it, two goals and an assist? A really amazing performance from him. The team is really glad for him. Everybody in the team is happy for each other. That makes our team really strong, and also really nice to play in.”

Growing Influence in the Squad

Yang’s recent performances have put him firmly in Brendan Rodgers’ thoughts as Celtic approach the business end of the season. His ability to make an impact from the bench, as well as his growing confidence in front of goal, could be crucial as the Hoops continue their push for domestic success, looking to secure another domestic treble and seal a historic 55th league title as quickly as possible.

With back-to-back goals in key games and the backing of his teammates, Yang is proving to be a valuable asset to Celtic’s attack. If he continues in this form, he could soon be forcing his way into the starting XI on a more regular basis—something that, just a month ago, seemed unlikely—highlighting what has been a brilliant couple of weeks for Yang.
