Craig Gordon has taken the step of talking to the media about his current contract situation as the player reveals he’s rejected the initial offer by Celtic to keep him at the club.
The Invincible goalkeeper who has been phased out as number one over the past 18-months has told SunSport he is listening to offers elsewhere but the door is not shut in a Celtic return.
“With Celtic, the ball is in their court. They’ve made an offer but they know they’ll need to come back with something better.
“My contract has lapsed and I’m free to talk to anybody. That’s what I intend to do over the next few weeks.
“St Mirren have made me a good offer and other clubs have also been in touch.
“As things stand I haven’t closed the door on anybody.”
Craig has been a top servant for the club since coming in from a long term injury back in 2015. The iconic moment Celtic won the invincible treble when the player dropped from his knees to the ground will be replayed for years to come.
Right now, neither Craig Gordon or Fraser Forster is on the books at the club. If neither re-sign in the coming weeks, Celtic will have Scott Bain as their number one with a youth team back up.
