Another day, another Covid scare for one of Celtic’s international stars.
It has been reported overnight from a source in Israel, Celtic defender Hatem Elhamed has started to feel unwell while away with the international team and will receive a test today to see if he has contracted COVID-19.

This comes days after his compatriot and fellow Celtic team-mate Nir Bitton tested positive for the virus after the Scotland game.
If Hatem is found positive he’ll become the third Celtic positive test and fourth overall player affected by COVID-19 with Ryan Christie forced to isolate.

It’s easy forget to the human side of things when thinking in a football context, but if the player is unwell, we wish him a speedy recovery. No football game is more important than any players health.
With more international games set for midweek, Celtic will not know how many players will be available come Saturday’s Glasgow Derby.
