Alistair Johnston has poked fun at Kevin Bridges’ strong Scottish accent as the Celtic-daft comedian prepares to take his stand-up across the Atlantic later this year.
Bridges announced his first ever North American tour on Saturday, with 20 dates lined up across Canada and the United States from September through to mid-October. The Glaswegian comic will kick off the run in Moncton, New Brunswick on September 3 and wrap things up in Los Angeles on October 18.

Among the Canadian stops is a significant date for Johnston, with Bridges scheduled to perform in the Celtic defender’s hometown of Vancouver on September 21. Johnston won’t be in attendance due to club commitments, as the 2025/26 season will be well underway by that stage, but the 26-year-old had a light-hearted message for the comic and potential punters in his homeland.
Reacting to Bridges’ Instagram post announcing the tour, Johnston commented: “🤣🤣 subtitles will be required.”

Now in his third season in Glasgow, Johnston has adapted well to life in Scotland, even picking up some local lingo along the way. But he was quick to point out that not everyone across North America will be able to understand Bridges’ Scottish humour without a bit of help.
Bridges, a lifelong Celtic supporter, has built a huge following with his sharp wit and observations of day-to-day life, regularly selling out massive venues like the Hydro in Glasgow.

This upcoming tour marks a major step as he expands his comedy across the Atlantic, with cities including Toronto, Chicago, Boston, and New York among those listed.
While Johnston won’t be able to catch the show in person, he could be forgiven for hoping it’s not too long before Bridges returns to the Glasgow stage, perhaps with some fresh material inspired by confused Canadian crowds.
