Celtic Star Gets First Ever Team of the Week Recognition

There were several standout performers from Celtic’s emphatic 4-1 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday in which Ange Postecoglou’s side retained their 12 point lead at the top of the table.

Matt O’Riley was on song along with left back Greg Taylor however it was Tomoki Iwata who has received recognition, being included in the latest SPFL Team of the Week:

The Japanese was selected along with ten other top performers from across Scotland over the weekend.

In midfield for Celtic, Iwata failed to put a foot wrong. He made some clever passes and went under the radar ever so slightly.

Whilst he did not contribute to any goals, Iwata’s calming presence which showed composure in the middle of the park was assuring for the Hoops.

In the coming matches, it will be intriguing to see if the 26 year old keeps his place with the upcoming return of Reo Hatate.

He has done nothing wrong to cause him to drop out and so far, appears to be yet another shrewd Celtic buy at just shy of a million pounds (Daily Record).
