Celtic Star Finds His Form he Shines in Big Win – Opinion

Nicolas Kuhn looked back to his best as Celtic returned to winning ways with a commanding 3-0 victory over Hearts at Parkhead.

The German winger had come under criticism for a dip in form since the League Cup final win over Rangers in December. While he burst onto the scene in the early part of the campaign, his output had significantly slowed in 2025. Four goals since the turn of the year – against Dundee, St Mirren, and Bayern Munich – had done little to mask a run of games where he looked off the pace. [Transfermarkt]

But Saturday’s performance against Hearts offered a timely reminder of what Kuhn brings to this Celtic side when he’s confident and aggressive in possession. While he didn’t find the net himself, he was a creative spark from the first whistle.

His perfectly judged dink to find Daizen Maeda’s run resulted in a header off the post that fell to Jota to smash home Celtic’s second goal. Then, moments later, Kuhn carved through the Hearts backline again, using his pace and directness before squaring for Maeda to make it 3-0 and seal the points before half-time.

There was a real sense that Kuhn had rediscovered the sharpness and intent that had made him such a key part of Brendan Rodgers’ attack in the first half of the season. He looked like a player eager to make something happen every time he got the ball—something that had been missing in recent outings.

With the run-in now in full swing and silverware still to play for, Celtic will need their wide players firing. On this evidence, Kuhn could be gearing up for a strong finish. If he can start adding more goals to his game again, just like he did earlier in the campaign, he’ll be a massive asset in the crucial weeks ahead.
