Celtic Star Criticised for Not Being Like Barry Ferguson

Former Scotland boss Craig Brown has chose to single out Callum McGregor as he takes a swipe at the Scotland setup for not having any leaders.

The last Scottish international boss to take Our country to a major tournament believes a big problem lies with the country not having a focal player to look to.

Brown went further and mentioned Callum McGregor and while he praised his football talent – the former boss said he was no Barry Ferguson.

“No, I don’t think there are leaders [at international level]. Callum is a super player in midfield, but he’s not a leader. He’s not a Barry Ferguson, who was 20 or 21 when we beat England at Wembley.” Brown told SunSport.

The Scottish national setup has been mismanaged for years. They have stumbled from one ridiculous decision to the next and the players and personnel has been questionable at time.

Callum McGregor has recently had the arm band on for Celtic and he did just fine. Yes, he’s a player who gets his head down and plays out of his skin for everyone of his teammates.

He might not be as vocal as a whinging Ferguson but to put this down as a reason for a lack of success is scapegoating.

The guy has helped his side to three trebles and a potential fourth.
