Celtic shirt sponsors Dafabet didn’t waste any time firing a dig at Rangers after their European exit at the hands of Athletic Bilbao.

As Barry Ferguson’s men saw their hopes of reaching another Europa League final dashed in Spain, Dafabet simply posted a winking emoji, two clapping hands, and a four-leaf clover — “😉👏👏👏🍀” — in a not-so-subtle dig at Rangers.

Rangers now face the grim reality of playing no meaningful football until August, with their European dreams shattered and their domestic title hopes all but officially over. It’s anpther trophyless season for the Ibrox side.
Athletic sealed a 2-0 aggregate win thanks to goals from Oihan Sancet and Nico Williams, the latter’s late header ending Rangers’ resistance and effectively their season.
While the Ibrox side felt aggrieved over a denied penalty for a tug on Cyriel Dessers — complete with a torn shirt for visual evidence — it did little to change the outcome. Bilbao were the better side over the two legs and now march on to the semi-finals with eyes firmly on a home final.
As Celtic close in on another league title and prepare for a Scottish Cup semi-final, the timing of Dafabet’s dig could not have been sweeter for the green half of Glasgow.
