Celtic have apparently reached out to Sky Sports in the last hour or so to tell the broadcast Fergal was never formally offered a role at the club.
It’s been this evenings big story another Celtic rejection. Unlike the sessile Howe debacle, I’ll be very surprised if Celtic were to make an official statement on proceedings. Their line to Sky Sports is Fergal wasn’t offered the job.
A source close to Celtic has told us Harkin was never officially offered the role.

We understand discussions took place, but we’re told there was no offer on the table.
To be honest, if he hasn’t been offered a told it throws up more questions. Who is the driving force behind the perceived chase for Ange Postecoglou? Many believed it was Harkin and the City group link, but that’s been torn to shreds this evening.
Who has been signing players to contracts since February? Who signed Liam Shaw? Was it Nicky Hammond who new he was heading for the Celtic exit?
It’s an omnishambles!
How can we be two weeks away from pre-season and be without a structure that’s been in the works for seemingly months and we’re yet to bring in a replacement for Neil Lennon.
Buckle in folks, the next few weeks and next season is going to be manic.
