Celtic need to sign a left-back this summer, and have been linked to Liverpool’s Owen Beck, who spent last season on loan at Dundee.

Liverpool is reportedly seeking around £3 million for Beck, a valuation that has so far stopped Celtic from securing a permanent deal.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: QPR and Leeds have entered the loan race for Owen Beck. Celtic want to sign him on a permanent move but are somewhat off Liverpool’s valuation. Beck missed both games this weekend through illness. It is believed that his fee would be around £3M. LFC hoping he signs…

Celtic’s interest in Beck is driven by a clear need within their squad. Currently, Greg Taylor is the only left-back at the club, with Bernabei out on loan and Taylor’s contract set to expire next summer. This situation underscores the urgency for Celtic to bolster their left-back position, either as a backup or as a potential replacement for Taylor.
Beck’s potential move to Celtic had previously been complicated by FIFA regulations, which prevented him from joining the Scottish club last January after making an unexpected appearance for Liverpool. These rules prohibit a player from playing for more than two clubs in a single season, and Beck had already been on loan at Dundee for the first half of the season.
While Celtic is keen on a permanent transfer, both QPR and Leeds are considering bringing Beck in on loan. Liverpool’s preference is for Beck to sign a new deal before going out on loan, which would allow them to retain control over his development and potentially increase his market value.
As the transfer window progresses, it will be interesting to see whether Celtic can negotiate down Liverpool’s asking price or if Beck will end up at one of the English clubs on a temporary basis. Either way, Celtic need to get a left back in this summer.
