Motorists in Glasgow now face a £100 fine for parking on pavements, as the city enforces new rules aimed at improving pedestrian safety. The changes are designed to protect wheelchair users, parents with prams, and other vulnerable pedestrians who may have been forced onto the road due to cars blocking pavements.

Fines will also be issued for double parking and parking over dropped kerbs. Over the past month, authorities have been phasing in enforcement, with more than 400 warnings already handed out to drivers breaching the new regulations.
The rules are already in place in Edinburgh, and now Glasgow is following suit. With a big crowd expected at the game, fans driving to Celtic Park should take extra care to park legally and avoid unnecessary fines.
It’s going top be a big match on Sunday. Hibs are edging closer to selling out their 7,000 allocation, and are coming to Glasgow in full confidence, after they beat Celtic at Easter Road a few weeks ago.
With the League Cup secured, the title all but won, this could be the trophy to seal the treble for Celtic.
