Celtic Set to Take £3.5m Transfer Hit – Pundit Predicts

Radio pundit Mark Guidi believes Celtic are ready to write off around £3.5m and sell Ajeti in the January window.

The pundit claims the player who came in from West Ham for over 4.5m will be allowed to leave Parkhead for around £1m.

Ajeti’s signing looks like a huge misfire from the club, especially because it was between the Swiss striker or Ivan Toney at one point.

The frontman came in and did a job when he was the only fit striker earlier this season but he’s not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

Speaking on Go Radio, Guidi said, “There appears to be one or two things doing the rounds that Ajeti will be allowed to leave in January which I don’t think comes as a surprise to anyone.

“It’s just not happened for him. He arrived behind the eight ball in terms of fitness when he was signed 18 months ago.

“He scored a couple of goals for Celtic. Wee bits here and there but at four and a half million pounds, he has been a big, big disappointment.

“And I don’t know what Celtic will get back for him. Maybe get a million quid or something like that which would be okay but I think they’re just willing to write their losses off and let him go.”

Signed under Neil Lennon, Ajeti has never seemed like that striker who is going to find space and break lines against tough, defensive opposition.

He’s struggled big time to show his worth to the Celtic support. If the Hoops manage to get over £1m for Albian and get him off the wage bill in the process, it’s something we should certainly explore.

Ange will want to bring in his own players and we need to free up space in the wage bill for that to happen.
