Anthony Ralston, Greg Taylor, Callum McGregor, and James Forrest have all been called up to represent Scotland at the tournament.

For each player selected, the club will earn £140,000, totalling £560,000, with potential increases should Scotland advance through the tournament stages.

The compensation comes as part of UEFA’s club benefits program, which allocates funds to clubs that contribute players to the European Championship.

This initiative aims to compensate clubs for their role in developing and releasing players for the national team duties during the tournament.

The compensation structure is based on a daily rate per player, starting from ten days before the team’s first match until the day after their final game.

The daily rates are tiered according to FIFA’s training compensation categories, which reflect varying levels of player salaries across different leagues and countries.

Although the exact figures for this year’s tournament are pending confirmation, they are expected to align closely with those from the postponed EURO 2020, where the daily rates ranged from €2,900 to €8,700 depending on the club’s categorization. [ECA]

So Celtic should be set to land a tidy payout, with the possibility of it increasing is Steve Clarke’s men progress past the group stages.
