The transfer window slammed shut last night for Celtic as the team lost arguably one of their top stars for big money.
Moussa Dembele stamped his feet until he got his move to Lyon, giving Celtic little choice but to let him go after the way he undermined the club and manager.
It was two in for Celtic with Mulumbu and Benkovic coming in on deadline day to help strengthen Celtic’s core.
But some Celtic fans believe the club is not done yet and a late development at Dundee last night makes it a ‘certainty’ Brendan Rodgers will land another player in the coming days.
That man? Steven Caulker.
The towering centre-back left it late last night to apparently trigger a clause which was put in his contract that he could leave the club for a ‘new challenge’ in this window should he see fit.

It was an hour and a half before the deadline the news was announced and the player becoming a free agent before the deadline makes things less complicated.
If he had triggered the clause after midnight he would not have been allowed to play with another club until the January but now the Englishman can sign for any club and be registered to play.
These Celtic fans believe all roads point to Celtic Park.

I wouldn't be surprised if Steven Caulker started training with Celtic

Caulker to Celtic is a certainty, he was always going to end up there.

Theory – Rodgers told Caulker to prove himself up here for a season and if he was good/had potential we would sign him. So Caulker got the clause added n it’s actually Celtic who have triggered it as they are the new challenge (Europa League football) https://t.co/sWkOXJtdsd

Caulker signed for Dundee in a shock move, not a year on from Rodgers offering him a deal with Celtic.
At the time, Caulker sighted his personal problems as the reason he could not take up a role with Celtic.
He decided to rehabilitate his career at Dundee but they have been struggling under novice manager Neil McCann.
It remains to be seen if Rodgers is still interested.
